Fireworks!

For Roots Mbili and Sheffield Theatres' production of Never Look Back I wanted an action shot of a teenage soldier. I wanted smoke and sweat, and a costume which hinted at the uniforms worn by African soldiers in WW2. Here are my initial scamps:


Photographer Sebastian Nevols suggested using spark machines to add a bit more of an abstract explosive feel, which I loved. Here's how the photos at Holborn Studios looked:
