Murder Before Evensong

This was a lovely brief – Watermill Theatre are putting on an adaptation of Richard Coles' novel Murder Before Evensong, and they wanted me to create an illustration which took inspiration from the original book cover.
The book cover illustration is cute but very simple, so I wanted to add a bit more detail, but keeping the same buildings that readers would recognise. I started with a rough sketch, then drew it all in photoshop. Here's how it came together:
