Under Milk Wood

I had such a fun time working on this one! I liked the idea of the village being in a bit of a bubble, detached from reality - and floating in a bottle at sea seemed the perfect way to get that across. I made a cardboard model of the houses first, making sure they fit into the curved slant of the bottle, then made the final versions out of balsa wood. The sandy base was really forgiving which made it a bit easier, and I plugged the gaps with reindeer moss foliage. I photographed it all in a tank of milky water, which started leaking almost immediately so it was a bit of a rush!
